As we draw near to the 20th anniversary of Plein Air Easton, our hearts are brimming with gratitude cultivated over two decades of artistic pursuit and community celebration. Our anniversary preparations are a tribute to that very sentiment and to the visionaries who imagined the boundless artistic opportunities afforded by a premier competition.

In selecting Nancy Tankersley as the judge for the 2024 Plein Air Easton competition, we are expressing our profound gratitude and recognition for her pivotal role in initiating the concept that brought Plein Air Easton to life. Her foresight and tenacity sowed the seeds for what has become the benchmark for competitive plein air events across the country. We are immensely honored by Nancy’s contributions and invite you to join us in a celebration of her work, in collaboration with our esteemed community partners at the Academy Art Museum this coming June.

From June 19 to July 28, Nancy will exhibit work from throughout her career which reflects both her personal growth as a highly respected artist and the myriad ways that Plein Air Easton has driven the narrative of the movement over two decades. On June 28 at the exhibition opening, Tankersley will speak about the works she has chosen for the exhibition, how they simultaneously tell her own journey and how they demonstrate the influence Plein Air Easton has had on artists throughout the United States.
