Xanadu JR. is inspired by the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical and the Universal Pictures' cult classic movie, released in 1980, that starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly. The show features a musical score written by rock legends Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra) and John Farrar. Some of the most notable songs include "Strange Magic", "Evil Woman", "All Over the World", "Have You Never Been Mellow" and the title song, "Xanadu".

Xanadu JR. follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California, on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first Roller Disco. (Hey, it's 1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds.

Xanadu JR. will be performed by students in grades 7 - 12. For more information or assistance with purchasing tickets, please call the Avalon Box Office at 410-822-7299.
